UEL Men’s Football 2nds handed 3 Points as Canterbury 4ths Cancel

University of East London 2nds were gifted three points going into the Christmas break after Canterbury Christchurch 4ths were unable to supply a referee for the game, writes Mitchell Young.

UEL were handed a three-goal away win from the cancellation, which puts UEL back in contention with Queen Mary 2nds and Herefordshire 3rd in joint top spot.

But with other fixtures still to play later in the day the gap could be restored, leaving UEL to rely on other results to boost their position in the league.

UEL return back to action on the 22nd of January to play Herefordshire 3rds at Memorial Park in a crucial game that will determine their title contention.

Team picked to play: Robinson, Manoka, Feehily, Osei-Bonsu, Adesina, Gill, Soulsby, Semain, Greene, Silva, Lelis, Hayden, Caney-Brown, Kadiki
